Promoting high-level opening up and Chinese modernization takes center stage in Shenzhen, a symbol of the country's transformation in recent decades.
Officials from China's top universities, entrepreneurs and scholars, are addressing some of the biggest issues facing the country's drive to continue opening up its economy.

Renmin University of China, one of the country's leading academic institutions, announced it will establish a research institute for the advanced study of the social sciences in Shenzhen.

During the forum, officials discussed the steady expansion of institutional opening up, such as rules, regulations, management and standards.
Talks also centered on optimizing trade, increasing the import of high-quality consumer goods and advanced technology, and boosting efforts to attract and utilize foreign investment.
